How can you help us?
We have been running our ceramics coop studio for 5 month from our new premises at New Cross, and managed to make substantial first steps in making our dream of a professional collective ceramics studio come to live. There are currently 8 inspiring makers working in the studios. There is a growing demand for our classes and services. We have started carrying out commissions for bespoke ceramics and our Open Studios event on December was very well attended! Thank you for buying all little presents from us, and inspiring makers in the studios to do more and go further with their practice.
Here are few things that could help us to grow a professional ceramics studio and a better cooperative:
– If you have a friend or acquaintance who may be interested in having a space for their ceramics practice in South London, please let them know about us. We are an affordable studio with good values where young up and coming ceramicists can gain access to equipment allowing to produce their work.
– If you know South East London based ceramicists, they may be interested in firing service we provide. Kilns are not always easy to access. Please let them know about us.
– If you have a friend who would like to join our People’s Pottery classes, please send them a link to our website. We have spaces at short classes available for booking from February!
– If you know someone who can donate us old or unneeded equipment to improve our ceramics facility, please let them know it would help our good cause in bringing this ceramics studio to higher professional standards.
– If you are a funding body or individual interested in supporting crafts in Britain, and helping innovational makers gain access professional facilities please get in touch with us. We aim to build economically sustainable enterprise, but since it is the start we would appreciate your help in supporting ceramics artists working in London by funding new equipment and specialised artist projects and exhibitions.
We are very grateful for all help and inspirations in making this ethical studios come to live. Thank you all.
Anna and Tatiana.
